COURSE DESCRIPTION

In the fractured world of today, where there is violence, war, and increasing moral perversion in different spheres of life, there is need for a higher level of biblically sound literate people who will respond to social issues to bring transformation among communities. The PTC Diploma provides students with a wide range of knowledge and skills required of Christians for life and ministry. Students will be able to develop strategies to effectively carry out ministry both within the church and the community. Emphasis is placed on the transformation of the student’s life, skills empowerment and practical ministry through which God can be served and worshiped in society. The Programme content involves studies in Biblical, Theological, Ministry, General Education Courses and Practical Work (Internship).


PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES

This course aims at:

  1. Produce quality graduates who will be able to provide leadership to the church, constituent groups and individual believers to realize growth in all areas of life.
  2. Develop theological ministers with theoretical and practical skills in interpreting the Bible, formulating and evaluating theological ideas, and communicating them effectively.
  3. Equip the students with skills for church planting, leadership and administration, resource stewardship, entrepreneurship and problem solving in the church and communities where they live and minister.
  4. Stimulate the learner’s creativity to appreciate and participate in biblical disciplines for personal enrichment and community transformation.
  5. Prepare students to undertake further studies in related disciplines and develop interpersonal relationships in the context of Church ministry and leadership.
  6. Develop the learners with a biblical, Christ-centred worldview, who can clearly articulate complex theological and other diverse worldviews ideas.

PROGRAMME LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Provide quality leadership to the church, constituent groups and individual believers to realize growth and maturity in all areas of life.
  2. Apply theoretical and practical skills in interpreting the Bible, formulating and evaluating theological ideas, and communicating them to their audience effectively.
  3. Demonstrate their skills for church planting, leadership and administration, resource stewardship, entrepreneurship and problem solving both in the church and communities where they live and minister.
  4. Demonstrate creativity in appreciating and participating in the teaching of biblical disciplines for personal enrichment and community transformation.
  5. Engage in further studies in related disciplines and be able to exhibit interpersonal relationships in the Church ministry and community.
  6. Apply a biblical, Christ-centered worldview, to clearly articulate complex theological and other diverse worldviews.
